High Density Polyethylene
Polyethylene (PE) is one of the most widely used plastic materials used in the manufacture of plastic packaging. Extruded in various thicknesses and densities, it can then be molded through an assortment of methods to various shapes. HDPE is also utilized in fabricating container dunnage where extra rigidity is required. The features of polyethylene include: excellent chemical resistance, ease of manufacturability, strength, and durability. The material remains stable at temperatures encountered in cold winters (below 0° F) and hot summers from below 0F to just over 120F. Above that temperature, HDPE softens and looses strength.
HDPE can be laminated with an assortment of products to provide increases abrasion resistance. It can also be die cut, slit and scored (with some restrictions) The minimum available thickness .06”
